October 27, 2025
- Additional step automations: You can now add automations such as sending a case message, putting a case on hold, or adding another additional step when an additional step is added to a case.
- Communications Module: You can now view all your case communications in the communications page found under the Clients section in the navigation menu.
- Message and comment threads: Messages and comments are now grouped into threads that have an assigned user and a resolved status. The messages marked as read feature has been replaced in favor of thread resolution status.
- Doctor-office refactor: Doctor-office pairs, now just called customers, hold on to the case warning and hold reason that the doctor entity used to hold on to. Along with that, the customer search table now contains many more columns such as fields from offices, doctors, and billing accounts.

- Billing Account calculates financials: Billing accounts now automatically calculate the total balance, unapplied amount, and net balance based on all associated invoices, payments, and credits.
- Merge Cases: You can now merge two cases directly from the Case View by choosing a source and destination case. Merging combines scans and attachments and discards the other case.
- Outsourcing template for products: Products now support a regular template and an outsourcing template. Outsourcing templates are used when the case is outsourced.
- Google SSO: You can now create new users or convert existing users to Google SSO. Labs can also enable sign-ups through the Lab Portal by whitelisting specific email addresses or domains.
- Sync case step duration: You can now automatically sync the duration and estimated days of a case step with the product quantity. This setting is configurable within the production template step.

- Pay on Client’s Behalf: Pay for invoices on behalf of a client directly within the Lab Portal, in the Financials section on the Billing Account page.
- Extended reporting data: Added additional data to the reporting suite such client and scanner data, along with extending cases data with case tags, steps, and additional steps.
- CSV error file download for bulk imports: After importing a file, any errored records can now be downloaded in a CSV file. The first column lists the error message, followed by the original record data.
- Client import: You can now import a flat structure of your client data, linking doctors, offices, billing accounts, and doctor–office pairs. An export of your current data is available to make editing and reimporting simple.
- Permanent deletes for client data: Permanently delete client data such as doctors, offices, and doctor-office pairs.

- Product notation automations: Automate creating products by creating rules around notation using model rules such as "Sinogle unit terminal tooth", "2 posterior teeth on opposite sides", etc. Link to documentation.
- Mobile device mode: Use Pilot on your mobile device and access pages like the dashboard, cases, and the technician view. Also, on a case page you can instantly add a picture by clicking the "Take Picture" button.
- High impact events on activity tab: When a case is created, shipped, invoiced, closed, had a doctor-office pair change, shipping route change, etc, it will now be shown on the activity tab.
- Package type code for UPS: When integrating with UPS, you can now specify a package type code that will be used for each shipment.
- DSCore integration: Added support for DSCore integration to automatically ingest cases into Pilot.
- Invoice info on cases table: Added invoice info on cases table to show total invoiced, and you can use advanced filters to filter by fields like balance, invoiceDue, invoiceDueDate, subtotalAmount, discountAmount, and tax amount.
- Preview button on case page: The preview button has been moved from its own column to intstead show up when hovering over the case number.

- Return Labels: You can now create return labels from the Lab or Client Portal for cases that need to be returned to the lab. Link to documentation.
- Pickup Requests: You can now create pickup requests from the Lab or Client Portal for cases that need to be picked up from the lab. Link to documentation.
- Shade-selection sequence: Changed the shade-selection sequence to incisal → body → cervical on the shade selector.

- Product rule automations: You can now add products to a case or select the Case Type based on Product Added/Removed trigger in Automations. Link to documentation.
- Disallowed products for doctors: Can now disallow certain products to be on a case when switching a doctor or when adding a product to a case.
- Case starring: Star cases either for your whole lab or for your personal use.
- Disable automatic assignnment of case due date: Can now disable the automatic assignment of case due date in settings that automatically assigns a due date to the case based on product turnaround days.
- Bulk case location updates: Bring your own RFID system into Pilot and update case locations in bulk.
- Outsourced cases search: Search for outsourced cases in the cases search table by filtering on outsourcing partner, outsourced at, or returned at.
