Custom Prices

Overview​

Sometimes, you may need to adjust the price of a product for a specific doctor. This new price falls outside of your existing price lists, but will be used consistently across all cases for that doctor. Unlike discounts, which require manual application to every case, custom prices automatically apply to ensure consistent pricing without ongoing manual intervention. Custom prices accomplish exactly this specialized pricing need by allowing you to establish doctor-specific rates that override standard price list pricing.

Setting Custom Prices​

To set a custom product price for a specific doctor:

  1. Navigate to the doctor page for the relevant doctor
  2. Select the "Custom Prices" tab within the doctor's profile
  3. Add a custom price for any product that is available in Pilot

Once configured, the custom price will override the standard price from the assigned price list for this specific doctor.

How Custom Prices Work​

When you add a custom price for a doctor-product combination, that price will be automatically used in all cases where this doctor is assigned, regardless of the price list that is applied to the case. This system provides you with a flexible pricing strategy that can be tailored to individual doctors without affecting the overall pricing structure of your products.

Benefits of Custom Prices​

  1. Consistency: Custom prices eliminate the need to manually apply discounts to every case for a specific doctor, ensuring consistent pricing across all transactions.
  2. Automation: Once established, custom prices are automatically applied to all future cases for that doctor, reducing administrative overhead.

  4. Relationship Management: Custom prices enable you to maintain special pricing agreements with individual doctors while preserving your standard pricing model for other customers.

Priority System​

Pilot applies pricing in the following priority order:

  1. Custom Prices (highest priority) - doctor-specific pricing overrides all other pricing
  2. Price List Values (standard priority) - pricing from the assigned price list when no custom price exists

This hierarchy ensures that custom prices always take precedence when they have been established for a doctor-product combination.
